Finding Positive Solutions and Support

Genuine Solutions Counseling Center facilitates group therapy to help people cope with and eliminate symptoms as well as to validate your experience.

We offer support groups ranging from Adult Children of Alcoholics and Dysfunctional Families to Self-Harm to Self-Care. Learning and sharing experiences can lead to positive solutions and support for one another.

Groups are always growing and there will be more to come. Call (248) 206-0378 today to see what groups we have to offer.

Adult Children of Alcoholics (ACA)

This support group meets every Tuesday from 7 pm to 8:30 pm. The term “adult child” describes adults who grew up in alcoholic and/or dysfunctional homes and may demonstrate traits of past neglect or abuse. This group may include adults from homes without alcohol or drug use.

ACA members tend to have had involvement with the abuse, shame, and abandonment often found in the homes of alcoholics.

For more information, please visit https://adultchildren.org/.

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA)

This international group is for people who have had a drinking problem. It is nonprofessional, self-supporting, racially and politically mixed, and available for men and women everywhere. There are no age or education restrictions.

Membership is open to anyone who wants help with a drinking problem.

For more information or to find a meeting near you, visit https://www.aa.org.

Narcotics Anonymous (NA)

This nonprofit group is for men and women with major drug problems. These recovering addicts meet regularly to support each other's efforts to completely abstain from all drugs, which is the only requirement for membership.

The program includes a simple set of principles to follow on a daily basis.
